Work with me

  • Meisner in Music

Meisner in Music is a New York City-based studio that nurtures artists to find trust in themselves and their instruments through the Meisner technique.

Founded by my dear friend and fellow teacher Jillian Paige, we teach group technique classes to a wide range of professional performers—Broadway actors, Opera singers, recording artists, and newer performers alike!

  • Voice Lessons

Looking to build a sustainable, exciting, and authentic vocal technique in a warm, playful, and trauma-informed environment? You’re in the right place!

Certified in Evidence-based Voicework, I am a voice scientist in disguise as a voice teacher. We’ll explore the use of primal sound, bodily engagement, breath work, and so much more to reveal the voice already inside of you!

  • Private Acting Coaching

Specializing in acting through song technique, we will explore how to meet your vocal technique work with the emotional connection and freedom necessary for authentic and expressive acting.

Through integrating Meisner technique and vocal technique work, you will discover a more deeply rooted, presently aware, and authentic experience with performing.

  • I believe that we are only able to take risks and express ourselves freely to the degree that we feel safe in our bodies, trust our voices, and have compassion for ourselves. My approach to working prioritizes the artist’s experience and well-being, ensuring that my student feels safe in the space and enough in their own body.

Student empowerment and agency, clear and kind communication, collaboration, a relationship of trust, and playfulness are the cornerstones of our work together.

Technique work can only take us so far if we do not feel that our voice, body, and person are enough. Building a relationship of trust with oneself is top priority in my studio.

I am passionate about ethical and empathetic arts leadership and education as well as taking a holistic approach to arts education following the model of Person First, Artist Second.

  • As performers, we are only able to take risks and express ourselves freely to the degree that we are compassionate towards ourselves. By being self-compassionate, we are far more likely to be adaptive and resilient in a difficult or unexpected moment in performance.

Mindfulness practices increase a performers ability to…

    • Become aware of and respond to the present moment

    • Distance and redirect themselves away from judgmental or hypercritical thoughts and feelings while performing

    • Be more deeply in touch with what they truthfully feel in the moment, and “let themselves be” with whatever they are feeling rather than trying to suppress it

    • Relate to themselves with more compassion

    • Reduce physical tension and resistance in the voice and body

Tu Experiencia Broadway

Winter Intensive January 2024

I had the opportunity to work with a full cohort of students for the 2024 January Intensive session of Tu Experiencia Broadway.

Eleven students from Colombia, Chile, Argentina, and Mexico joined me for a week-long Performance Technique class.

Psychology of Performance Intensives - Summer 2023 and Winter 2024, Meisner in Music

Facilitated Performance Intensives alongside leading Trauma Specialists, Therapists, LCSWs, and Somatics Experts like Monti Bianchi Wellness, Jay Colwell at the Singing Body Clinic, and more.

Students learned to work alongside performance anxiety and fear, deconstructed stories from their past, built a relationship of trust with their bodies and voices, and harnessed the power of present awareness in performance.
